Zip Lines

Hawksnest Zip Line offers one of the longest zip line tours in the United States and THE longest and perhaps highest elevated canopy tour in the Eastern United States. A zip-line consists of a pulley suspended on a cable mounted on an incline. It is designed to enable a user propelled by gravity to traverse from the top to the bottom of the inclined cable by holding on or attaching to the freely moving pulley. Zip-lines come in many forms, most often used as a means of entertainment.

Hawksnest Zip Line is designed, operated and inspected to the standards of Association for Challenge Course Technology(ACCT). ACCT is the largest association of zip lines and challenge course vendors. ACCT is accredited by the American National Standards Institute(ANSI) as a standards developer. Many new zip lines have sprouted up across the Smoky Mountain region, however none are as long and NONE offer the scenery and elevations that we provide at Hawksnest.

Other zip line tours cannot compare to the zip line tour at Hawksnest. Our current tour of 10 zip line cables and swinging bridge is over 1.5 miles of zip line fun. The zip lines range from 30 to 150 feet off the ground with lengths ranging from 300 to 1800 feet. Speeds can be up to 25 to 30 mph. Hawksnest continuing to be a leader in zip line tours so we are adding a new course the summer of 2011. We are adding 8 new zip lines and rope challenge course. The new course will be over 2 miles of zip line fun which travel over tree tops, creeks and have incredible views of the mountains. More information will be provided on the new course as the construction moves along.
